“Mama, my dreams came true tonight!”

“Mama, my dreams came true tonight.” Isaac’s small voice in my ear as I was drenched in sweat, carrying him on my back. Clinging to one daughter’s hand, while holding another’s sleeve. Making my way through the shoulder to shoulder crowd of Disney Springs. One, two, three, four… Ok, all four kids and no surprises here. The fourth child, my oldest daughter’s best friend. After weaving our way through Disney Crowds hearing that sweet voice of my son, his heat tantrum was but a memory, he was so calm. Talking about all his favorite moments, but before I go on further, his dreams came true with the drone show at Disney Springs.

What a memorable night, full of laughter, smiles, candy apples and heat tantrums from Isaac. We spent the evening with our Aunt and Uncle, better known as Fairy Godparents. The first stop was the Candy Cauldron for a sweet treat while we waited for the show.

As we made our way to the location of the show, we wanted the best seats we could get. Walking past a grassy area, the cast member informed us we would not be able to see the show in the grassy location. After seeing the long line of people, standing, sitting and squeezed in to a taped-off area, we would rather take our chances in the grassy area. Which meant walking back around the rope or so I thought… After me pleading my case of not wanting to get in trouble. One, Two, Three and under they went. My Aunt, Isaac, Isabella and her bestie were under the rope and walking to find an area. “PLEASE NO GOING UNDER THE ROPE!” Cast members called out. “But this is ok, right?” And next thing I know, my uncle is stepping over the rope! Elle on the other hand, went under and looked back at me and came back. I did not want to be “scolded”, as I walked up and around the rope again. And no, my lovely readers, it wasn’t a short 10-foot walk, it was just a bit longer. Elle, my sweet girl followed me, after breaking the rule, haha.

As if someone cranked up the heater, we were melting. But then again, “Some people are worth melting for”. All the thoughts of the muggy weather quickly left as the show began! Watching the hundreds of drones, some with a small blue light on, some you faintly could see making their way out.

From childhood favorites like Peter Pan and Mary Poppins, to Isaac’s favorites like Baymax and Guardians of the Galaxy; we were in awe.

Not only did the drones form the characters, but they also made them “move”. Baymax took flight, Dumbo soared through the sky to the Star Wars Death Star battle. Roughly ten minutes of wide eyes and “I know that movie! I watched that movie!”, coming from Isaac as I tried to hold him on my back. My shirt clung to my back, that moment in time stood still. I couldn’t see the facial expressions of the children, I knew mine!

Creating another memory for the books, hoping that the children were just as happy as I was. Not only from hearing the children’s excitement, but to see my Aunt’s smile as she heard Isaac calling out what movies he knew. The truth is, it really takes a village to raise children. To be there for the big moments of birthdays, holidays, graduations, but also the average days that we make magical, together.
